Welcome!
The Georgia Regency Society is comprised of like-minded individuals of various walks of life who all have one common interest; an unwavering love for the Regency period. At the moment we are based out of the Metro Atlanta Area.
We are Jane Austen enthusiasts, English Country Dancers and Regency Dancers, the tea-obsessed, historic reenactors, regency romance novel readers, and oh, so much more.
We like to slip out of our everyday "mundane" jeans and t-shirts, and into the light muslins or tailcoats of days long gone by and into the past. We enjoy a peaceful game of whist, we enjoy finding ourselves standing in a set, waiting for the music to begin. We encourage bows and curtsies, pleases and thank yous, graciousness, conversation and wit.
We are romantics, polite and civilized sort of folk. We believe in chivalry, femininity and most of all, elegance.
Right now we are in the begining stages of our chapter of the Regency Society of America. In time we will offer book readings, movie nights, informal dances, picnics, balls and more. Let us know if you have any suggestions, comments, or questions!
